Today’s show title was The Worst of Us. We see it all around us. Politics are dragged into everything these days. We can’t enjoy what are supposed to be the enjoyable things in life because politics infest everything.

Monday opened Early Voting in Brevard. I cast my ballot before noon and the process was smooth and simple, as it usually is. I’d spent a good deal of time contemplating my votes and shared those over the weekend in a MICKnugget. We discussed them on the show this morning. We also hit on AI tools and their misuse by vindictive school kids and robot dogs patrolling Atlanta’s communities with some interesting results.

I’ve done it since early in my radio career and we’ll continue this weekend on BillMick.com.
I have serious concerns about the candidates we are seeing on the ballot in every election and our choices as voters do not seem to be improving. It’s as if we have no standards for candidates to meet in order to earn our support. If integrity and service to the public are not evident, motives must be questioned.
We seem to be collectively be playing the R vs D game and all R’s are good, while all D’s are bad. That just isn’t the case..While most of my selections will be on the Republican side (they naturally come closer to my political point of view), there are some candidates whose integrity or motives are in question for me and some who lost any chance of earning my vote long ago. Some of these will pass without commentary, others will not. Here we go:

Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic joined us in hour one. Early voting begins Monday in the midterm elections. Hour two was devoted to Character and Corporations, regardless of heritage. And, no, Chandler Langevin wasn’t right, but there was a tie to his ill thought out comments.

This morning we tacked Madness in our world and fighting it in different ways.
Girls in Washington State fought the LGBT nonsense by choosing as a team to not participate in a Cross Country meet where an opponent, who had competed as a boy just 10 days before, was now claiming to be a girl. Execution Voyeurism as in play over the Nidal Hasan execution and the idea of live streaming the event. We also discussed political figures and their troubles as well as our government being weaponized against its citizens.

Chris Muro joined us in Wednesday’s final hour to discuss the amendments and ballot measures we’re voting on in the midterm election. It was good to have Chris in the new studio and his insights, as always, are appreciated. If you missed it, catch the audio podcast under EPISODES in the menu above.
We had also touched on kids making nearly fatal events out of pranks, Texas turning over scholastic test assessment to AI with costly results for parents and what it’s like when a County Commission stands up to a sheriff without any fear of doing so. Of course, Brevard County knows nothing of this, but Broward sure does. Read more →

It seemed like old times that aren’t actually that old or removed from our experience, but it was good to have Dave Bowman back on the show with us this morning.
We caught up on the NFL, my retirement medical insurance experience that convinced me I have the best doctor and insurance agent on the planet and then we tackled Americans and our cars. From the EV decline to modern features that could seem like a trap for drivers, Americans love our cars, but is it like it used to be? You decide.
In hour two it was Dave Does History as Dave gave us a look as he only can at the birthday of the United States Navy. Read more →

Monday opened on a somber note and huge realization we don’t often see from this side of the microphone.
While the world is big, it’s a lot smaller than it appears. Read more →

The value of college, as in what Americans perceive the value to be, is in decline. A US Senate bill to limit power of succeeding administrations seems to go against the idea of representative government. The Hope Florida Grand Jury report is graveyard dead leading the Attorney General and Governor to claim exoneration, but that’s not the right read on what happened. On the upside, Florida has had a major crackdown on other Medicaid fraud and it could lead the country in how this can be done.
That was our Friday on the Bill Mick Podcast. It’s only Friday evening and the topics are already jumping out for our conversation Monday morning. Read more →
