Dave Bowman and I talked largely about elections on Tuesday’s show. After all, it is election day.
I’m worried about the country given how this process seems to be going. We have checked our ethics for the almighty win and that can’t be good.
Dave Does History took us to an election where Republicans sold their very souls to land the presidency and it didn’t bode well for the country. It makes me wonder about the decisions we make today. What will that mean for the country, Florida and us locally in Brevard County?

Our week began with a strange lawsuit against McDonald’s. It seems some McRib fans have unrealistic expectations about the quality of fast food. A federal judge agrees with them, to a point, and is allowing the suit to continue. Did you expect actual ribs when you ordered that specialty sandwich…from McDonald’s? If so, you’re an idiot.
The rest of our day was election related as we looked at extremism and its impact on voters. It’s not good. Extreme positions drive the decision making and governing for the good of the country is out of the question. It’s caused us to reject primary elections as the party backs any incumbent no matter how bad they may be.

This weekend has featured excitement and drama and we aren’t even talking about the election!
Don’t worry, we will have plenty of time for election talk when our talk week starts tomorrow. Tuesday’s election day and we still have no reliable indication of how the electorate will fall in many races. The excitement I’m talking about is with NCAA football. What a weekend it was!
We’ll kick that around to begin our day along with my interesting experience with a batch of trick or treaters in the midst of the football. From there we’ll move on to our headline story…

While this week’s shows were abbreviated by technical issues, the week was a good one for us. It may not prove to be a good one for Republican candidates.
Today and tomorrow are the last two days of early voting and Republicans across the state are sweating it. They’re convinced the NPA voters are leaning largely left. If they’re right, change could be coming to Tallahassee.

We got back to business this morning on the show. We began with a recap of what news guy Alex Ross called “tech hell.” He was right. Created the most stressful weekend I can remember. When everything you do depends upon of machines operating correctly, you are at their mercy. For some reason Terminator comes to mind.

After a frustrating weekend where the studio decided it needed a vacation, we are back Thursday at 7am with the Bill Mick Podcast.
While on three weeks, off a week is an interesting idea, it’s not how this goes. Thanks to Randy, the new video box is in play and working well. I’ve been working, too and we’ll have plenty to discuss as we get the day rolling tomorrow.
I look forward to talking with you then…rest up, we have some catching up to do. Not the least of which is the crazy pedestrian that the DOH tried to kill on A1A Tuesday as I was dropping Taco off to Randy. I told you those flashy light mid-block crosswalks were a bad idea!
We’ll talk in the morning.

Thursday and Friday we noticed a bit of an issue with the daily podcast. The video was lagging behind on the console in the studio. Everything went out OK; the show ran fine, I was just seeing it delayed here and that’s not the norm. The show concluded and I went on about the day posting the audio podcast to the web episodes and all went well.
The weekend continued and the grandkid pulled off Viera’s first pass interception of the season in a big win for the Hawks. So far, so good.
Then Saturday morning arrived…

Are we so into politics that everything must have political overtones? I believe sometimes we are. Can we even stop looking for the political angle in anything we see? I get it. Bill, you’re a political commentator, isn’t this what you do? Well, sort of.

Prepping for Thursday’s show I was glad to see I am not alone in my observations of The Republican Party and where it is leading the masses. We began with the RPOF claiming victory as it withdrew its lawsuit against the Democratic Party, some of its candidates and several TV stations. Like a lot we see from Republicans these days, this is a loss they are trying to characterize as a win. It wasn’t. It was stopping a stupid move before things got even worse.

While Apu has returned to a speaking role on The Simpsons (with another voice, this time by a real Indian) and the WNBA is halfway to understanding biology (now able to recognize what a man is), our main focus today was the malfunction at the highest echelons of the Republican Party in Florida. We’ve allowed the left to have the high ground on ethical and legal issues and we have reverted to threatening media with the power of government to keep our leadership’s misdeeds out of the public discussion.
